Introducing Kerry Adams

Hello, I'm Kerry also known as the boss and owner of Whutuporo. I started my career as an accountant almost 30 years ago after going through primary school and then high school knowing I wanted to be an accountant. For a long time I have always had the ability to see numbers and the answers in the my head before others can so it was natural that I was going to be an accountant. There is something exciting about working with numbers and seeing what results we can achieve for clients.
I am married to Rebecca who hails from Kerikeri and we have three children Cameron (17), Keegan (16) and Cushla (13). Rebecca runs our other business that we own being Selwyn Kids in Rolleston which has two kindergartens, OSCAR service and homebased childcare throughout Canterbury. All the kids have different interests and personalities. Cushla is the shopper in the family and you will often hear her asking for a K-Mart trip. Cameron is a sports nut like myself and will attend any sports event with me. Meanwhile Keegan is our entrepreneur of the family and has his own small business selling and trading Pokemon cards. If you are into Pokemon look up The Sly Fox he has thousands of cards for sale.
I am a hard core Cantabrian having been born here. If you cut me open you will find that I bleed red and black. This is the reason why I am a devoted sports fan and love attending lots of live sports events. The sport I am most passionate about is rugby hence the name of our business but I also love a number of other sports such as league, cricket, ice hockey, aussie rules just to name a few. I have been a loyal Warriors fan since 1995 and every year is going to be our year. Some say that is tragic but I will always keep the faith.
The other passion of mine is horse racing which I blame on my dad and grandmother who had me attending races from when I was still a baby. There is something exciting about having a share in a horse and cheering it home for that big win. I currently have interests in 38 horses in both the thoroughbred and standardbred codes. Life is never dull when you have a horse racing and I would love to win a group 1 with a horse one day.
What do I want this year? I want our businesses to prosper and grow and for the kids to succeed in everything that they do. From a selfish point of view I want to finally get my big black dodge and hit the road in it.
