The Role
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide range of accounting and compliance requirements. You will work closely with senior accountants and managers, contributing to client advisory work while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing annual financial statements, income tax, GST, and FBT returns
- Managing client accounting requirements across a range of entities, including companies, trusts, and partnerships
- Assisting with management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Supporting senior staff with advisory engagements and due diligence assignments
- Liaising with clients to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services
About You
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, client-focused, and eager to contribute to the growth of both our clients and the firm.
Skills and experience required:
- 2–4 years of experience in a New Zealand public practice accounting firm (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of NZ tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Xero (experience with other cloud-based systems an advantage)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- Progress towards or completion of CA/CPA qualification (preferred but not essential)
