Ceased Directors and myIR Logins
It has recently been bought to our attention that when a Director is Ceased you need to ensure that any associated myIR logins are also ceased at the same time. It is not enough to just advise IRD that they are no longer a Director.
Unfortunately, there is a flaw in the IRD system that when a Director is removed from being a “Director” of a company they don’t close off their myIR access to the entity. This can cause serious issues wherein if the said removed Director remembers their login, they can still access the login and all information in IRD. This is a breach of privacy and depending on the situation, could have serious implications.
If you have any concerns about whether ceased Directors can still access your entities myIR, we highly recommend you get in touch with IRD to ensure that your financial data isn’t being accessed illegally.
